The Nation Ford Falcons won the last time they faced the Northwestern Trojans, and things went their way on Friday too. Nation Ford narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Northwestern 43-40.
Nation Ford got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jackson Burnham out in front who scored 13 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Burnham has scored at least 25% of Nation Ford's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Giles, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Isaiah Larkins and Theron Young certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Larkins scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, while Young scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds. The matchup was Young's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Nation Ford's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Northwestern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
Nation Ford will be playing at home against Lancaster at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Lancaster is ranked 21st, while Nation Ford is ranked 42nd). As for Northwestern, they will head out on the road to face off against Spartanburg at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
