On Wednesday, the Mojave Rattlers faced the Coronado Cougars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Mojave fell 81-72 to Coronado. Mojave just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
C.J. Shaw and Zacarrion Jackson certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Shaw scored 29 points along with seven rebounds, while Jackson scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. The matchup was Shaw's 17th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Sherrard, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Mojave bumped their record down to 10-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Coronado, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mojave will take on Foothill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Foothill has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three contests. Coronado will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Spring Valley at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th.
