The Beaver Local Beavers are taking a road trip to square off against the Southern Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Beaver Local is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.
Beaver Local barely beat Buckeye Local the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Beavers put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 7-1 victory on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Beavers, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Addie Thurik made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 19 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Beaver Local let Tatum Duncan and Lora Reeder run wild. Duncan went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Reeder went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Brenna Jones, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Beaver Local kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive contests.
Southern let Wellsville stack seven runs on them in the third inning on Monday but luckily Southern prevailed anyway. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Tigers 12-11. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.
Addy Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Raelea Carosiello was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Makenna Jones was another key player, going 1-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Beaver Local's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Southern, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Beaver Local couldn't quite get it done against Southern when the teams last played back in April of 2023 as they fell 7-2. Can the Beavers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
