The Treutlen Vikings entered their tilt with the Hawkinsville Red Devils with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Treutlen blew past the Red Devils 63-36 at home on Tuesday. That's two games straight that Treutlen has won by exactly 27 points.
Treutlen got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was JaNerriah Lovett out in front who scored 24 points. Lovett has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was ShaCaria Jackson, who scored 21 points.
Hawkinsville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Karia Nelson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Treutlen has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Hawkinsville, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Treutlen will play host again and welcome the Patriots, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilcox County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Vikings in Georgia (the Patriots are ranked 117th, while the Vikings are ranked 293rd). As for Hawkinsville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wheeler County is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
