Basketball Recap: Weiser's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Weiser). They came out on top against the Marsing Huskies by a score of 91-81 on Friday. The win was just business as usual for the Wolverines, who after six games remain undefeated this season.

Marsing lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Juan Ponce, who posted 32 points. Ponce is becoming a predictor of Marsing's success: when he posts at least 25 points the team is 4-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Kinney, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds.

Weiser pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.0 points per game. As for Marsing, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.

Weiser wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-38 defeat against Lewiston on the 21st. Marsing and Wendell will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. Marsing is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.9 points per game this season.
