The Highland Hawks will square off against the Chandler Wolves at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
If Highland beats Chandler with 17 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Highland blew past Cesar Chavez 17-3 on Monday. The contest marked the Hawks' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Joaquin Warmus looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Jake Wesolowski was a standout: he scored two runs while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Tarwater, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Highland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Chandler made sure to put some runs up on the board against Valley Vista on Wednesday. Everything went Chandler's way against Valley Vista as Chandler made off with a 14-4 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wolves' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Luke Rylee looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low.
On the hitting side, Chandler got a big performance out of Brian Romero, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Devan Wilson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
The victory made it two in a row for Highland and bumps their season record up to 5-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.5 runs. As for Chandler, their win bumped their record up to 2-4-1.
Highland was able to grind out a solid victory over Chandler when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 4-1. Will Highland repeat their success, or does Chandler have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
