1A North Central recap Nov. 7, 2012
Wray extended the longest winning streak in 1A North Central this week by beating Byers, 46-7. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Wray led the league in scoring this week after putting up 46 points on the Bulldogs. Cade Reinick threw for 108 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 117 yards in the win.
Austin Reed was the best wideout in the league this week as Levi Kramer's team topped Byers. Reed racked up three receptions for 58 yards. Orlando Lefever helped Wray's passing attack out by catching one ball for 37 yards.
Cade Schulz made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Eagles beat David Dodge's team. The 5-foot-10 sophomore recorded one fumble.
Brett Cumming was the most productive running back in 1A North Central this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 306 yards as Holyoke defeated the Bulldogs. Teammate Bradley Cumming added to the ground attack by rushing for 70 yards.
Resurrection Christian's Luke Mondt and Jake Lohr have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Mondt has thrown for 1960 yards this season, while Lohr, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 44 catches for 717 yards. Thayer Sauter from Wiggins leads the league in rushing with 1576 yards.
Dan McCreery has rushed for 965 yards on 139 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Eagles take on the Dragons. As it stands, Wray is in first, while Holyoke is in fourth.
John Zilla's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,764 from 10,038. The advance stemmed from a 42-20 victory over Platte Canyon last week.
