The Middleton Vikings will challenge the Boise Brave at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Middleton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Middleton will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Saturday, then bounced right back against Timberline on Tuesday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Wolves. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Al Wells was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Middleton is 4-1 when Wells allows three or fewer earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Wells was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Middleton got a massive performance out of Cam Lenius, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most doubles Lenius has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Grady Churchfield, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Middleton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Boise was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Centennial, falling 8-2.
Boise saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Newbery, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Newbery has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Middleton's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Boise, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Middleton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. However, it's not like Boise struggles in that department as they've averaged .458. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Middleton's way against Boise in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Middleton made off with a 13-1 victory. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Brave turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
