The Pioneer Charter School of Science Panthers lost against the Innovation Academy The Red Tailed Hawk back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Pioneer Charter School of Science took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Innovation Academy. Pioneer Charter School of Science has not had much luck with Innovation Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Derrick Twum was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points for Innovation Academy. Twum is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Sam Horace, who scored 11 points.
Pioneer Charter School of Science has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Innovation Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pioneer Charter School of Science will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Notre Dame Cristo Rey at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Innovation Academy on the road again on Wednesday and play against Prospect Hill Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 31st.
