Eisenhower is 1-9 against MacArthur since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eisenhower Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the MacArthur Generals at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Eisenhower focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday.
Eisenhower suffered their biggest loss since December 28, 2023 on Saturday. They were outmatched by Nimitz on the road and fell 77-37. While losing is never fun, Eisenhower can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1144th, while Nimitz is ranked 199th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Talaysia Morgan, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Keiora Gaines was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Eisenhower struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Nimitz pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.
Meanwhile, MacArthur came up short against Benjamin Davis on Saturday and fell 45-37. MacArthur has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Eisenhower has been struggling recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season. As for MacArthur, they bumped their record down to 8-18 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Eisenhower ended up a good deal behind MacArthur in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, losing 53-34. Can Eisenhower avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
