Open Bible Christian entered their tilt with the Corinth Christian Academy Warriors with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Open Bible Christian walked away with a 54-43 win over Corinth Christian Academy on Tuesday. Given Open Bible Christian's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 206th in Georgia, while Corinth Christian Academy is ranked 464th in Florida), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Corinth Christian Academy had strong showings from Alden Hughes, who scored 18 points, and Justin Fowler, who scored 13 points. Hughes scored a full 41.9% of Corinth Christian Academy's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Open Bible Christian pushed their record up to 5-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Corinth Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Open Bible Christian will challenge Gainesville Christian Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Corinth Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Hart 2 Hart Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
