The Sunnybrook Christian Lions will be playing at home against the Mount Carmel Academy Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Sunnybrook Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 21-20 to Gloria Deo Academy.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kayden Martin, who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Elijah Newman also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Mount Carmel Academy, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They were beaten by Cristo Rey Jesuit 46-0 back in October. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Sunnybrook Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Mount Carmel Academy, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-4.
