St. Augustine Prep had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Mainland Regional Mustangs as St. Augustine Prep made off with a 13-2 win. The victory was nothing new for the Hermits as they're now sitting on five straight dating back to last season.
Jameson Dobis looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, St. Augustine Prep got a massive performance out of Joe Peacock, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave Peacock a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marco Christopher, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Mainland Regional's loss dropped their record down to 0-3-1.
St. Augustine Prep will have a chance to go back-to-back against Mainland Regional: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
