Volleyball Recap: Peotone's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Peotone lost against Manteno back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Blue Devils fell 2-0 to the Panthers. The Blue Devils' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Peotone may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 21 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21.

Despite the defeat, Peotone saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ella Stupegia had nine digs and two assists.

Among those leading the charge was Leah Donnelly, who had three digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September.

Peotone's loss dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Manteno, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Manteno beat Peotone by a score of 2-0 on Saturday.
