Baseball Recap: Lamphere Wins Going Away Against Roseville

While Lamphere put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Roseville. The Rams were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Panthers. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Jacob Lang tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaxson Riddle, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Braylon Cox was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Lamphere was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Lamphere has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Roseville, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Lamphere will take on Avondale at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Roseville, they will venture away from home to square off against Cousino at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
