Basketball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Tri-Cities Christian's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

Tri-Cities Christian entered their tilt with Whites Creek on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 50-40 victory over the Whites Creek Cobras. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Cobras are ranked 204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tri-Cities Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lofton Looney out in front who went 8 of 15 on his way to 15 points. Looney's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Peters, who went 10 for 16 on his way to 15 points.

Whites Creek's loss came despite strong showings from Malachi Benton and Eric Bryson. Benton posted 15 points and three steals, while Bryson went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points. Walter Box was another key player, putting up six points.

Tri-Cities Christian has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Whites Creek, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Tri-Cities Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-44 defeat against Montgomery Bell Academy on the 22nd. As for Whites Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-43 loss against Tyner Academy on the 22nd.
