Everything went their way against West Springfield as Alexandria City made off with a 70-49 win. Given Alexandria City's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while West Springfield is ranked 267th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Alexandria City to victory were Darius Bivins and Kye Robinson. Bivins scored ten points along with three steals, while Robinson scored 17 points. Bivins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Teko Bostick Jr was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Alexandria City's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for West Springfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.
Alexandria City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Springfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Braddock at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. West Springfield is facing Lake Braddock at the right time seeing as Lake Braddock is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
