Versailles has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Columbus Grove Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Versailles knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Columbus Grove likes a good challenge.
Versailles extended their postseason success on Friday against Anna. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 41-14 victory over the Rockets. Considering Versailles has won 11 matches by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Meanwhile, Columbus Grove waltzed into Friday's contest with ten straight wins but they left with 11. They came out on top against Bluffton by a score of 17-10.
Trenton Barraza was his usual excellent self, rushing for 163 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Barraza has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last ten times he's played.
Versailles' victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.3 points per game. As for Columbus Grove, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.
