After three games on the road, Victory Christian Academy is heading back home. They will take on the Lincoln Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Victory Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Lincoln likes a good challenge.
Victory Christian Academy pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Rancho Buena Vista 63-58.
Despite their loss, Victory Christian Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Derek Edmond, who scored 15 points along with three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Jayden Gray, who scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals.
Lincoln posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-59 victory over Hoover. The win was all the more spectacular given Lincoln's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 500th, while Hoover is ranked 112th).
Victory Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Lincoln, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-11.
Victory Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Lincoln in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, sneaking past 53-50. Does Victory Christian Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lincoln turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
