Softball Recap: Oneida Sets Scoring Season-High Against Jellico

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oneida). They were the clear victors by a 29-13 margin over the Jellico Blue Devils on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won nine in a row.

Oneida got a massive performance out of Katie Sexton, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Shayla Shoemaker, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Oneida hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one batters in three consecutive games.

Oneida's victory bumped their record up to 11-17. As for Jellico, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.

Coming up, Oneida will square off against Pigeon Forge at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Jellico does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
