Ashlyn Harris put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Allie Christensen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kambry Bartholick, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Teton got themselves on the board against Bear Lake on Thursday, but Bear Lake never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Bears. The Timberwolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 12 runs or more this season.
Like Sugar-Salem, Teton also got a great game from a two-way player: Gracie Kincaid. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave Kincaid a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Teton got a massive performance out of Kara Webster, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Kadence Hansen was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI.
Teton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in eight consecutive matches.
Teton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Sugar-Salem, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Teton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Sugar-Salem has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for Teton, though, as they've been averaging 9.4 hits. Given Sugar-Salem's sizable advantage in that area, the Timberwolves will need to find a way to close that gap.
Sugar-Salem couldn't quite get it done against Teton when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-5. Can the Diggers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
