Even though The Pinewood Christian Patriots scored an imposing 49 points on Friday, the Frederica Academy still came out on top. Frederica Academy snuck past Pinewood Christian with a 54-49 win. Frederica Academy pushed the score to 48-27 by the end of the third, a deficit Pinewood Christian cut but never quite recovered from.
Jordan Triplett had a dynamite game for Frederica Academy, rushing for 404 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Triplett's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards.
Pinewood Christian's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Banks Booth, who threw for 388 yards and five touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Walker Todd, who picked up 192 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Frederica Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Pinewood Christian, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Frederica Academy will head out on the road to face off against St. Andrew's at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Richaard Williams and Triplett. As for Pinewood Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bulloch Academy at 7:30 p.m. Bulloch Academy will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
