In what's become a running theme this season, the Arlington Heights Yellowjackets gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Polytechnic at home to the tune of 72-20. Winning may never get old, but Arlington Heights sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Despite the loss, Polytechnic still got an impressive performance from Sofia Castro, who scored 15 points. That was a full 75% of Polytechnic's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Arlington Heights pushed their record up to 17-7 with that win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.1 points. As for Polytechnic, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arlington Heights will square off against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Trimble Tech will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1416th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 475th). As for Polytechnic, they will head out on the road to take on the Chaparrals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
