The Grand Terrace Titans will square off against the Bloomington Bruins at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Grand Terrace has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight defeats, while Bloomington will come in with three straight victories.
Grand Terrace saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They fell just short of McQueen by a score of 8-6. That's two games in a row now that the Titans have lost by exactly two runs.
Ray Roybal was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Vann Morris, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bloomington). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Pacific a 16-0 shutout two weeks ago. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bruins with their most commanding win of the season.
Robert Bliss made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrew Velazquez, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Isaac Garcia, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Bloomington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Grand Terrace now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Bloomington, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
