ESAT has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the East College Prep Spartans at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Tuesday, ESAT suffered a rough 57-35 loss at the hands of the Guerreros Jaguares. ESAT was down 49-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite their defeat, ESAT saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Niel Gabriel Sanchez, who scored 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. Sanchez hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. Jonah Vasquez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, East College Prep had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came out on top against Collins Family by a score of 62-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
ESAT's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for East College Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.
ESAT was dealt a bruising 58-9 loss at the hands of the Spartans in their previous matchup back in January. Can ESAT avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
