The Southern Raiders will take on the Weeping Water Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southern has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Southern is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer 65-44 last Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Raiders have posted since December 29, 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cooper Warford, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The match was Warford's third in a row with at least ten points. Kale Ames was another key player, going 6 for 10 on his way to 18 points and four steals.
Southern was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Weeping Water ended the year with a bang, routing Falls City 60-35 on Saturday.
Southern better keep an eye on Gus McGill. He was instrumental in Weeping Water's win, dropping a triple-double on 31 points, 19 boards, and ten steals. With that strong performance, McGill is now averaging an impressive 16.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Fulton, who posted 17 points in addition to six steals and five boards.
Southern now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Weeping Water, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Southern has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32 boards per game. However, it's not like Weeping Water struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.4 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
