This season hasn't been kind to the Islands Sharks, who are still winless after their 12th contest. They were the victim of a rough 50-26 loss at the hands of The Habersham School on Saturday. If Islands was looking for revenge after losing 47-28 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
The Habersham School found their leader in underclassman Myla Shippy, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Shippy hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Anna Cadle, who scored six points along with three steals.
Islands' defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for The Habersham School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.
Islands and the Yellow Jackets will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wayne County will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. The Habersham School is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Coastal HomeSchool and the Patriots are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
