It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Liberty North Eagles had no problem doing just that on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 28-27 photo finish over the Hawklets. Liberty North is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 12 straight.
Liberty North can attribute much of their success to Micahjo Barnett, who rushed for 161 yards and a touchdown.
Rockhurst's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan Hansen, who threw for 208 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Jack Bichelmeyer also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Liberty North's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Rockhurst, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2.
Liberty North will be staying on the road on December 2nd to face off against Christian Brothers at 7:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Christian Brothers will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. Rockhurst does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
