The Northside Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the McIntosh Chiefs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Northside is ranked 183rd, while McIntosh is ranked 204th).
Northside put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 35-12 margin over Drew.
Northside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jai Jackson out in front who rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Clay, who threw for 143 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, McIntosh gave up the first points two weeks ago, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged Drew out 14-12. The win was just what McIntosh needed coming off of a 56-21 defeat in their prior game.
Brandan Ridley was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.
Their wins bumped Northside to 5-4 and McIntosh to 6-2.
Everything came up roses for Northside against McIntosh in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 57-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northside since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
