New Knoxville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avery Albers, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Albers has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Keianna Wellman, who scored nine points along with five steals.
New Knoxville's victory ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-17. As for Waynesfield-Goshen, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Knoxville will face off against Versailles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. New Knoxville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 644th, while Versailles is ranked 102nd). As for Waynesfield-Goshen, they will head out on the road to face off against Ridgedale at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Waynesfield-Goshen is coming into the matchup with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Ridgedale will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
