Eads is a perfect 3-0 against Wiley since March of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles will square off against the Panthers at 3:00 p.m. Eads will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
Eads' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Springfield 10-0. Considering the Eagles have won three games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Adyn Hough made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Johnathan Vasquez and Brantley Buller did most of the damage at the plate: Vasquez went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Buller went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Weston Mitchek also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Eads always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Wiley lost 19-9 to Flatirons Academy on Saturday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Bison recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Grant Mauch was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Devonte Pizarro, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Wiley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6-1. As for Eads, their record is now 5-0.
Wiley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eads hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .374. It's a different story for Wiley, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Eads' hitters?
Everything went Eads' way against Wiley in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Eads made off with a 13-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
