Derek Smail posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). He was up against DuBois and has quite the history against that squad, as he also had a great game the last time he faced them back in April of 2024.

Smail and Clarion Area will venture away from home to challenge Clarion-Limestone at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sadly, Smail's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Bobcats' five-game streak of wins at home.
