Baseball Game Preview: Starks Panthers vs. South Cameron Tarpons

For the second straight game, Starks will face off against South Cameron. Starks will be playing in front of their home fans against South Cameron at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Starks made up a huge gap compared to their last game against South Cameron, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Starks blew past South Cameron 15-3 on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Kaison Howard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Starks' success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 1-9 when he doesn't). Howard was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braden Holloway, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nate Gore, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

South Cameron is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7. As for Starks, their win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-9.
