The Meadowcreek Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight defeat. They fell 69-59 to Berkmar. While losing is never fun, Meadowcreek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Patriots are ranked 25th).
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adonai Mussie, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. Mussie hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Damari Wright, who scored 13 points.
Meadowcreek's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-15. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Berkmar, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-6.
Meadowcreek will be playing at home against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Discovery has now lost 18 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 16. As for Berkmar, they will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
