Basketball Recap: Brewer Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Brewer entered their tilt with Azle on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 60-48 win over the Azle Hornets. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Brewer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braylen Brown, who posted 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. Brown is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jayden Jones, who had 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists.

Brown wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Brewer was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Azle only racked up nine assists.

Azle's loss came despite strong showings from Cason Cook and Jayden Taylor. Cook put up 13 points, while Taylor posted 16 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Robinson, who had eight points.

Brewer has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Azle, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-16.

Coincidentally, Brewer and Azle will both be playing Aledo the next time they take the court. Azle will head out to face Aledo at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, while Brewer will head out to face them at 8:00 p.m. on January 14th.
