The St. Paul Knights will head out on the road to challenge the St. John's Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
St. Paul pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Burncoat. St. Paul has struggled against Burncoat recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, St. John's took a serious blow against North on Friday, falling 100-47. While losing is never fun, St. John's can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while North is ranked first).
St. Paul has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for St. John's, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-12.
St. Paul came up short against St. John's in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 64-56. Can St. Paul avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
