Meanwhile, North Vermilion earned a 50-41 win over Ville Platte on Tuesday. Given North Vermilion's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Ville Platte is ranked 233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lake Arthur's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for North Vermilion, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
