The Park City Miners's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 64-46 to Green Canyon. While losing is never fun, Park City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Green Canyon is ranked 11th).
Michael Zagin and Luke Rice certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Zagin scored 12 points along with four steals, while Rice scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Cedric Donovan, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Jared Anderson was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points for Green Canyon. Gavin Crane was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Park City has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Green Canyon, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Park City will head out on the road to square off against Stansbury at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stansbury is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Green Canyon will take on Ridgeline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ridgeline is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 66.6 points per game.
