Bethesda-Chevy Chase and Wootton are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wootton Patriots at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Bethesda-Chevy Chase strolled past Walter Johnson with points to spare, taking the game 66-47.
Meanwhile, Wootton entered their tilt with Walter Johnson with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Wootton had just enough and edged Walter Johnson out 52-50.
It was another big night for Jaiden Aze, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Khairi Hyde, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Bethesda-Chevy Chase's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Wootton, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Bethesda-Chevy Chase opened the new year with a less-than-successful 59-47 loss to Wootton. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wootton's Taj Smith, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. Now that Bethesda-Chevy Chase knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
