The Buchholz Bobcats and the Lakeland Dreadnaughts squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Buchholz Bobcats had to settle for second. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 21-20 to the Dreadnaughts. Buchholz's loss signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.
Despite the defeat, Buchholz saw an underclassman step up: Trace Johnson threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lakeland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malik Morris, who rushed for 45 yards and two touchdowns.
Buchholz's defeat dropped their record down to 13-1. As for Lakeland, their win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3.
Buchholz does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lakeland will be staying on the road on December 9th to face off against Venice at 8:00 p.m. on December 9th. One thing working in Venice's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 matches.
