La Grange hasn't had much luck against Madisonville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. La Grange has given up an average of 30.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Last Friday, La Grange had to suffer through a 65-27 loss at the hands of Navasota. While losing is never fun, the Leopards can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 429th, while the Rattlers are ranked 170th).

La Grange might have lost, but man, Eli Gillum was a machine: he rushed for 141 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 134 yards and a pair of touchdowns. With that strong performance, Gillum is now averaging an impressive 103.4 rushing yards per game. La Grange also got a significant boost from Dillan Johnson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Madisonville, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in September. They came out on top against Center by a score of 21-14 last Friday.
Madisonville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Kedirck Moffett led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Madisonville now has a winning record of 3-2. As for La Grange, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. La Grange has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 238.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Madisonville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 267.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
La Grange ended up a good deal behind Madisonville in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, losing 56-42. Thankfully for the Leopards, Ty Williams (who threw for 346 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 30 yards and one score) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
