The Fremont Tigers had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Grand Island 67-33 at home. Fremont's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Fremont's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jenna Mcclain, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Mcclain has scored at least 25% of Fremont's points. Kate Denker was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with four steals.
Fremont's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Grand Island, they bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fremont will take on Columbus at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Grand Island, they will be playing at home against Kearney at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
