It was a good run, but the Tocoi Creek Toros unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Creekside. Tocoi Creek lost against Creekside in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 62-35 score last time.
Several Toros players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mckenzie Mabry, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Audrey Beyer, who scored 13 points.
Creekside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Siun Crowley out in front who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Brinkley, who scored eight points.
Tocoi Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Creekside, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Tocoi Creek and Keystone Heights will round out the year against one another at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Keystone Heights is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. Creekside will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oakleaf at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
