Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cross Lanes Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashton Gute, who scored 27 points along with five assists and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gute has scored at least a third of Cross Lanes Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Mulanax, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Cross Lanes Christian's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Wood County Christian, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-7.
Cross Lanes Christian will head out on the road to challenge Elk Valley Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elk Valley Christian is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Wood County Christian, they will be playing at home against Paden City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Paden City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps West Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 845th, while Wood County Christian is ranked 121st).
