Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Somonauk

Somonauk entered their tilt with Rochelle on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Hubs 14-2.

Kaydence Eade spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Somonauk got a massive performance out of Brooke Bahrey, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kira Barnes, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.

Somonauk always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Somonauk's record now sits at 5-7. As for Rochelle, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Somonauk will challenge Earlville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bobcats are facing the Red Raiders at the right time seeing as the Red Raiders are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Rochelle, they will square off against Morris at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
