Baseball Recap: Elmwood Has No Trouble Against Northwood

Elmwood won the last time they faced Northwood and things went their way on Saturday too. The Royals put the hurt on the Rangers with a sharp 11-1 win. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Zackery Gross was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryken Zeigler, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Elmwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Elmwood's record is now 10-3. As for Northwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elmwood will challenge McComb at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Northwood, they will square off against Cardinal Stritch at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rangers are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
