Softball Recap: Southlake Carroll Has No Trouble Against Northwest

Southlake Carroll never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Northwest Texans 14-0. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.

Olivia Wiske looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent over her last eight contests.

At the plate, Southlake Carroll got a massive performance out of Sammy Petkus, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. What's more, Petkus posted two RBI, the most she's had over her last 14 matchups. Scarlett Kuhn was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Southlake Carroll hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in six consecutive games.

Southlake Carroll's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Northwest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
