Presley Noonan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with four RBI.
In other batting news, Coco Gomez and Makenzi Ravelo did most of the damage at the plate: Gomez went 4-for-5 with five runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Ravelo went 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Ravelo has posted since back in April of 2025. Bryton Wahlquist was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
ALA - Gilbert North always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Combs made sure to put some runs up on the board against ALA - Gilbert North on Monday. The Coyotes were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Coyotes have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Like ALA - Gilbert North, Combs also got a great game from a two-way player: Kayleigh Snyder. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Snyder was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ellie Snyder, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Jonessa Butler also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Combs has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. ALA - Gilbert North's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-16.
ALA - Gilbert North suffered a grim 18-1 defeat to Combs in their previous meeting on Monday. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
