Baseball Recap: Franklin Victorious

While Franklin's victory against East Henderson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Eagles 7-6 on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Anderson Terrell and William Rauers were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Terrell pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Rauers tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Terrell went 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base, while Rauers went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Terrell has become a key player for Franklin: the team is 7-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brock Bradley, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Deas, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Franklin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive matches.

Franklin's record now sits at 12-9. As for East Henderson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.
