Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Ashley Ridge

Ashley Ridge waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They strolled past the Fort Dorchester Patriots with points to spare, taking the game 71-53. This was payback for the Swamp Foxes, who suffered a 61-58 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ashley Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Clayton Everett Jr led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. Everett Jr is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Javion Gathers was another key player, going 6 for 10 on his way to 13 points.

Ashley Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Those 20 points gave Wright a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maricious Dawson, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Ashley Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Fort Dorchester, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Ashley Ridge will face off against Stall at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Ashley Ridge's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 matchups. As for Fort Dorchester, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 47-40 victory against White Knoll on the 11th.
